Belle Maison: The Gardens
Our gardens are adorned with large pieces of stone from old New England farms. In the northwest corner, there is a sunken Celtic outdoor firepit that brings warmth, light, and laughter to an otherwise quiet and dark spot. Designed by Belle Maison, all the garden stonework was built by Portuguese craftsmen. The seating areas are defined by terraces of crushed local clamshells. Planters filled with local and exotic plants line the paths. We have a garden dedicated to wildflowers and birds, as well as one called the Turkish Delight. The path and steps that welcome visitors are made of stone, cobbles, and a reclaimed ferryboat rope serves as a handrail.
