Strong winds, abstract art, glacial swims, and cozy fires are abundant! We cherish reconnecting with old friends during this quiet time. Walks along the beach and hikes in the dunes rejuvenate us.
The gardens are frozen, and we can only dream of spring blooms; for now, tulips in vases will have to suffice. January and February are months when we immerse ourselves in the studio as spring and summer shows approach.
We are also planning and mapping out our new destinations for our annual winter trip to Europe. We will begin our journey in Paris, our home away from home, and then explore a new destination we discovered last winter: the Basque Country, specifically Biarritz. We hope to make it to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and walk a portion of the El Camino, even if only for a short time.
After exploring the Basque Country, we will head to Catalonia, particularly the Empordà region, where we plan to visit Girona, the Costa Brava, and follow the Fauvist Trail. Finally, we will return to soak up April in Paris.
